Mindex’s Product Division is dedicated to creating innovative products from the ground up. They are involved in every step of the process, from software development to sales, training, support, and maintenance. This division includes SchoolTool, New York State’s market-leading Student Management System designed to meet the unique needs of NYS K-12 schools, as well as the Mindex Integration Platform, focused on creating seamless out-of-the-box and custom integration solutions to address business application and process challenges.Â
Essential Functions
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CloudOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Â
- AWS Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure for SaaS applications and external customers, ensuring optimal performance and security.Â
- Automation and Optimization: Implement automation tools and processes to streamline AWS cloud operations, reduce manual tasks, and improve efficiency.Â
- Monitoring and Incident Response: Establish monitoring systems to track AWS cloud performance and security, and lead incident response efforts to minimize downtime for both internal and external services.Â
- Customer Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external customers to understand their needs and ensure the delivery of high-quality managed services.Â
- Compliance and Security: Ensure all AWS Cloud Operations comply with security policies (NIST 800-53 r5 Moderate), best practices, and regulatory requirements (Ed Law 2-d, FERPA, HIPPA).Â
- Budget Management: Manage the budget for AWS Cloud Operations, optimizing costs while maintaining high service quality.Â
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Refine strategic direction into actionable, planned projects for the CloudOps team to execute. Track progress and report back to senior leadership on key metrics and milestones.Â
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- WS SysOps Admin Associate or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, and preferably AWS Solutions Architect Professional. Specialty certifications in Advanced Networking and/or Security are a plus.Â
- Minimum of five years of experience in Cloud Operations for native (incl. Postgres) and traditional Windows/.NET/SQL workloads, with at least two years in a leadership role.Â
- Proficiency in AWS cloud servicesÂ
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and servicesÂ
- Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)Â
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsÂ
- Strong communication and leadership abilitiesÂ
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience working in environments compliant with NIST 800-53, ISO27001, SOC-2, or AWS MSP standards.Â

The band range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including,, but not limited to skill sets, education, experience, training, certifications, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at, or near, the top of the range for their role; and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The range for this role is $120,000 – $173,000. Â
